Are you passionate about healthcare and making a difference in people's lives? Do you have a strong background in provider relations and a knack for building relationships? We're looking for a Field Based Provider Relations Advocate to join our team in Knoxville and surrounding areas. As a Field Based Provider Relations Advocate, you'll play a critical role in building and nurturing positive relationships between our health plan, providers, and practice managers. You'll work closely with our network contracting and development staff to identify gaps in network composition and services, and help prioritize contracting needs.

The Role

As a Field Based Provider Relations Advocate, you'll be responsible for:

  • Training and ongoing education of providers on policies and procedures
  • On-site assessments to ensure that providers are compliant with contractual terms
  • Troubleshooting provider concerns internally with the expectation of timely resolution of issues
  • Traveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships, up to 75% travel within specific region in Tennessee
  • Presentations to train providers on new requirements, or reiterate existing requirements
  • Documenting outreach, as applicable

Requirements

* High school diploma

  • 2+ years of work experience (preferably in healthcare)
  • 2+ years of experience in Provider Relations and/or Contracting
  • Intermediate level skills with MS Office Products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel in-state (up to 75%) for provider visits

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in the healthcare industry, in a role where provider interaction was involved

  • Experience and knowledge with Medicaid
  • Experience and knowledge with Long-Term Services and Supports providers

Soft Skills

* Solid analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple high-priority projects and meet quick deadlines
